Steps to take if you have an outage:
- View Our Outage Map and determine whether we know you are out of power. If the answer is undetermined, move to step 2.
- Go to the main inside panel to check for a blown fuse or a tripped breaker. If there is an outside disconnect under the meter make sure to check there also.
- If the problem is not in your main panel, call a neighbor to determine if they are also without power.
- If the problem is not within your home and several homes are involved, please call 256-593-4262 or text “OUT” to 1-800-239-3692
- It is helpful to have an electric bill in hand to provide accurate account information when calling to report an outage. If this is not possible, please have the correct name of the account and a phone number where you can be reached.
- When texting “OUT” to 1-800-239-3692, if your information on your account is incorrect, the outage will not be reported correctly.
- Reports made directly on our social media accounts as posts, comments, or messages are not entered into the outage management system. For large outages, we post outage updates on our Facebook page when we can.
